Our Heritage
Since 1902
For over 120 years, the Broadwater Rod and Gun Club has been the cornerstone of shooting sports, fishing, and conservation in west-central Montana. Founded in 1902 in Townsend, just 35 miles southeast of Helena, BRGC has grown from a small group of local sportsmen into one of Montana’s most respected rod and gun clubs.
Our mission remains unchanged: to promote and preserve shooting, archery, and fishing sports while fostering conservation and community education. We sponsor Hunter Education, 4H shooting sports, and NRA-certified courses — investing in the next generation of responsible Montana outdoorsmen and women.
Today, BRGC operates three range facilities serving shooters, archers, and anglers across Broadwater and Lewis and Clark counties. From our 1,000-yard rifle range at Indian Creek to Sunday afternoon trap shoots at Canton Lane, we’re proud to carry forward more than a century of Montana sporting heritage.
